Words to inspire: While driving along yesterday with my boy, I reflected on the different parts of the car and their importance. The rear view mirror is one of my favourite features and I have placed Kung Fu panda on top so he can see all aspects of the car and help guard it lol. When driving, its important to keep our eyes on the road ahead but taking a quick glance in the rear view mirror is good too. This is particularly good before a new manoeuvre and to see what’s behind. However, the rear view mirror is not…

Words to inspire: One of our favourite things to do as a family is walking through the woods. It’s great to be close to nature and be able to explore freely. It’s also one place where we can go at any of the day and it will never be crowded. That’s a great thing for some of us. When we walk through the woods, it’s always fun to let the children navigate and find the way out. During those times, the adults have to remain silent and follow the children. One autumn’s day while we were out walking, we reached…

Words to inspire: When I was reflecting, I was taken back to this time last year when we were invited round to spend time with family, carving pumpkins of light and toasting marshmallows. There was a big roasting fire and Nae-Nae was looking forward to toasting the marshmallows but she was a little apprehensive about going near the fire. She was given a helping hand and then later she did it independently and was so happy. The toasted marshmallows were amazing. Marshmallows are nice as they are but when they are put through the fire, they taste even more amazing….

Words to inspire: Nae-Nae looks at the weather forecast on my phone daily and she is happy when it is going to rain. For years I never quite understood that, especially where we live. Dry days are limited so most people long for sun… She does loves the sun though, but she’s equally happy when it rains because she can put her wellies on and jump in muddy puddles. She also finds it amusing to run out of the house into the rain, get absolutely soaked, then run back in to dry off. Hmmm that girl! We’ve been through many…

Words to inspire: Do you ever feel like you are hanging by a thread or a thin rope? When you are hanging do you notice that life still continues around you? When I was thinking about this I took myself back to my childhood, when playing outside was all we did. We didn’t have much going on in rural Suffolk but we made life fun. All we needed was tyres, sticks and a thin rope and we would make a rope swing. When on a rope swing I found it more scary to stop still cos I worried if the…

Words to inspire: 12 years ago this week, we exchanged contracts on our new home. We moved to a town far away from everything we knew. I knew one person locally but everything else was left behind. It wasn’t totally a bad thing leaving things behind because I had to get away from some stuff, but it was still very scary stepping into the unknown. For some reason I was just compelled to go but I didn’t know why. I used to think it would be good if we were just given insight into everything to come. But then where…

Hi lovely people I’ve been a little quiet here recently and that’s not because I have nothing to write but I’m just in a reflective state. Then I remembered even in my reflective state I have words to inspire myself and others. So I just started throwing my thoughts outloud on Facebook and it’s been great. Please go to @MrsJKofficial to see what I mean. As I don’t want you to miss out I thought it’s a good idea to share them here too. So please stay tuned to my words to inspire coming up next. Please share too. Peace…

So I’m not one that sleeps beyond sunrise. I think I wake up in the morning just to have a race with the sun. In the past I used to blame my children for my body clock. They were the reason I was up so early but now that doesn’t wash and it’s actually not them anymore as I’m the first one up with MrJK as close second. 4am sometimes 3am… is a time I get up and reflect without anyone calling my name. Sometimes I don’t always make the best use of the time and I just scroll up…

I wrote this blog and then I deleted it because I’m an over thinker sometimes. I thought about it and wondered whether it’s too much of a sensitive issue and when I tell the story and I’m laughing would it appear that I’m making mockery of the situation or my child? Then I reflected for a few days and had conversations with my friends about different aspects of our journey. After that I realised that what I write is my reality and even though I make light of it and bring humour sometimes it’s still real and if it offends, im…
