While driving along yesterday with my boy, I reflected on the different parts of the car and their importance. The rear view mirror is one of my favourite features and I have placed Kung Fu panda on top so he can see all aspects of the car and help guard it lol.
When driving, its important to keep our eyes on the road ahead but taking a quick glance in the rear view mirror is good too. This is particularly good before a new manoeuvre and to see what’s behind. However, the rear view mirror is not there for us to fix our eyes on, otherwise we could lose our way or worse, crash the car.
Taking a quick look back at where we have been and how far we have come is vital for our journey ahead in my opinion. It could help push us a little bit further and remind us to keep going because we’ve already come a long way. Nevertheless, if we keep our eyes on the past, dwell there and keep focusing on past mistakes, hurts and pain, we won’t see where we are going. Actually it may also stop us from getting to our destination because there could be a crash.
So it’s ok to take a glance but keep your eyes on the road.
